I’ve been MIA for quite some time! Fall is always a busy time for me and this year even moreso than ever. I’ve got baskets full of yarn just waiting to be transformed into something sweet, and not nearly enough hours in a day… Here’s a few snaps of orders I’ve filled lately, while trying to create some stock for an upcoming market.
Hello friends! I know I’ve been quiet for a long while … Now that craft market season is officially in full swing my hands have been very busy whipping up plenty of Smash Knits gear just waiting to to be worn!
Come visit me this upcoming Sunday, November 17th, at the Crescentwood Community Centre. I’ll be sharing a table with Creative Authority, who has lots of lovely lil’ baby and mama items for you to fawn over.
The venue is located at 1170 Corydon Avenue and the event runs from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is free. Christmas is only 40 days away! Here’s a sneak peek at what will be in store…
After several weeks of preparation, I’m happy to say that the first annual Winnipeg Etsy Street Team (WEST) Handmade & Vintage Sale went off without a hitch yesterday! We had a gorgeous fall day on our side to entice people to come out and check out local Winnipeg artisans and purveyor of vintage wares. Happy = me!
Being on an organzing comittee of any kind is always time-consuming, exciting, and nerve-wracking all at once! I woke up the morning of the sale anxious and eager, with my fingers crossed. Thanks to everyone coming together, we were able to provide local shoppers with a great variety of goods in a friendly, cozy, and relaxed venue.
It was great to connect with several other WEST members whom I’d only know to date via email and discussions held online. Always nice to put a face to a name! Checking out other vendors proved difficult however, given that the sale was hoppin’ pretty much all day. Not that I’m complaining; here’s to many more successful WEST community events!
A few snaps of my new display. I’m proud to give a shout out to my Dad, who was in charge of re-creating a vintage bread rack I spooted on Kijiji but didn’t want to dish out $100 for … he did a wicked job, using recycled wood from his house. Hurray for upcycling! The crates are vintage finds, and the signage is hand painted by moi. Rounding out the look are my brand spanking new biz cards … photos to follow of those! Very happy to have a cohesive look for furture events… and burlap always makes me smile :)
Next up? I’m still crossing my fingers and waiting to hear back regarding the oh so famous Vineyard Sale … so for now you can catch me next at Dakota Community Craft Sale November 3rd and 4th for a 2 day shopping bonanza with the very talented One Plus One Design!
In the meantime, it’s back to the knitting needles :)
I haven’t been doing much of it lately … unless we count the 30 second baby blanket I whipped up the other day. Nope, my time has been strictly all knitting, all the time. A lil’ crochet, too. I know I’ve mentioned it a few times, but the 1st annual Winnipeg Etsy Street Team Handmade & Vintage Sale is a mere 14 days away! Wahoo! So I’ve been gearing up for that, along with some photo-shooting on the side for my shop … here’s a glimpse :)
Certainly looking forward to the New Year when I can get back into sewing more seriously … and for that matter, my New Year’s resolution is to sew more selfishly! Yes, I am aware I attempted that for this year but … all I can do is keep trying :)
Some exciting news that brightened up my cold and blustery Saturday: one of my pieces was just featured in the daily Etsy Finds Newsletter, which is the daily Etsy shopping guide. Pretty big deal (for this girl anyhow), to be featured in a large, worldwide newsletter. Woo hoo! Slide down to the “Headbands” section, and voila!
The piece in question? One of my favorites, the big bow earwarmer …
Not a fan of the mustard? It’s available in twenty different colors! Simply hop over to my shop and pick your poison :)
